Inbound Tourism- Final

This cartoon out in BB today. Visiting interesting places in Brunei is one of the thing that I have not done enough. There are plenty of great locations to go in Brunei and some I don't even know they exist until I read about them at the Tourism Brunei website. Nicely design website by the way.

We went to JP yesterday. We really had fun there esp Zaheerah. Whoever yang punya idea to open up JP for free (except for the ride) atu... Well done! it work. Ramai orang. Parking yg dakat2 pun payah belurih.

Back to Work

Went away for short vacation, back to work tomorrow. Was looking for a good fiction book for the holiday (initially Dan Brown's Lost Symbol), but at end up reading this book by Muhammad Yunus. Very inspiring! (as said on the cover). But left me with lot of questions. Like how do we define poverty in Brunei?, are non-governmental agencies and big corporations doing enough for social cause?.. anyway I am officially still on holiday hehehe

End of durian season

Have not done cartoon sketches lately. Still mourning for our late Mum passed away last week. We are missing her A LOT. Thank you families and friends for being there for us. Especially your prayers. Mudah mudahan roh Al Marhumah di cucuri rahmat oleh Allah s.w.t. Amin. Al-Fatihah.

Creating

Creating a new hero character by playing around with whatever ideas pop to mind. Having fun with sketching it, slowly building and hopefully perfecting it. Initial process of transfering mental picture to paper should be a smooth-inda-agressive-go-with-the-flow moment. The more you enjoy it, the better the result.

Lambat Jugaaa

Went to "my" tailor last weekend to make Baju Melayu. First thing he said "Lambat jugaaa hantar ?!". He hesitated but at the end agreed to make my Baju Melayu. Not sure why it is called Baju Melayu ah, may be because worn by orang Melayu and made by Indians?

I have not make my baju melayu yet. My better half suggested two already (of different colors). I think my tailor still expecting me to turn up few days before raya, just like previous years hehehe.

I am reading

So many things about Brunei that we don't know. But reading this book, I now know the story of Road in Brunei, pasal besunat (heheh) and others. I need to get the 2nd Vol as well. Its a good read! trust me.

Cuboi Cartoon in Media Permata today!

The last time Cuboi appears in Media Permata probably 5 years ago. I've managed to draw a few cartoons recently & one is out today. I am not sure if I will continue publishing them in the newspaper, let see. At the moment just enjoying it. Hope you enjoy it too.

Geography of Food

This is what interesting during Ramadhan. Everywhere is food related. Sungkai Buffet, Food promotion etc etc. I suppose nothing wrong, it's just interesting. The more we observe, the more interesting. Like the names of kuih2, cooking etc. Yang penting time puasa ni, inda membazir. This cartoon out in BB today.

Holiday Monday

I am at home with Zaheerah. Now shes playing in her walker making macam2 noises I can't make sense of. One of her first word is "book", after "papa" & "mama" hehehe

Doodled this cartoon about the same time last year. I started drawing Cuboi cartoons again, well at least yg sampai siap lah. In fact I've done four in two days. Now thinking of sending them off to Media Permata. Wow thats after what? five years? may be.. hehe let see. Its fun now, so I just go with the flow.

I promise this is the last cartoon on Haze this "season". I need to find other ideas for my next cartoon. This one out in BB yesterday.

I heard story from a friend that during the haze, a lot of insects were hiding in his golf bag when he was in the golf course. I wonder, one, why is he playing golf during hazy time. Two, those insects kan hide from the haze or looking for the left over chocolate.
